I have lived with a tappet noise for a while now. Strangly I didn't notice it when I got the car and it only appeared after a few weeks.
Anyway the options are to live with it or to replace the tappets on the left (drivers) cylinder bank.
I will be getting this done in May some time when the SLShop can fit me in.
