This is the Exhauset Gas Recirculator and is prone to failure on the 107. This causes a fluttering sound as if there is a small hole in the exhaust manifold. The SL Shop advised me that it made no difference and the usual fix was to simply blank off the connecting pipe.
I got them to do this and the noise has gone.
